Golden Heat

This was my first time ever working with a compilation of three canvases to make one large painting and I loved it. Most of all though, I love how dramatic and striking the colors work together in this piece. Fire reds, coppers, and golds being complimented by deep aqua greens and blues....to me it definitely screams "dramatic." Although it is hard to photograph and capture the true essence of gold, I did the best I could and tried to give a few different views taken from different lighting spots to help show just how bold the gold metallic actually is.

Royalty

I can not get over this color combination. Deep saturated blues and greens with the complementing mix of muted grays and yellows that make the two gracefully emerge into a cohesive whole. Metallic gold is my favorite if you haven't noticed...I'm a little obsessed. I always try and incorporate it somewhere in my paintings because I feel it changes the mood completley. In this painting the smooth bright gold really helped enhance the smooth lines while revealing the texture at the same time. Overall I could not be happier with the way it turned out!

Mood Board: Calming Neutrals

What kind of mood are you feeling today? For some reason I find soothing neutrals to be so calming and that is just what I am in need of today. A perfect hair bun, flowing dresses, cookie dough ice-cream, distressed paint brushes and finding your true beauty through Christ.....whats a more calming combination then that? Breathe in, breathe out....Have a wonderful Tuesday;)

Currently Craving..or obsessing over...

Pattern on pattern....are you a fan?? Most people might give you a funny look BUT if you do it right, you will be ready for one of this falls biggest trends! Below are a few items that I am currently obsessing over and wishing my wallet would allow. I am in love with this retro green color below shown in the Jcrew Tippi Cardigan and the Kate spade Denisa Top....with a statement color comes a statement necklace right? Stella & Dot just released some new fall pieces and if you haven't already looked at a catalog or online...do it...now, I will be very surprised if you don't find 10 things you absolutely love.

Creme de Mint

I loved the process of this painting and the odd mix of colors that seemed to perfectly compliment each other (I was very scared they would not). I decided to mix rustic warmth with cool shades of mint/blues and then added some fluid gold circles to complete the piece. Again, layers on layers on layers finally resulted in something I almost couldn't give up.

A Classic Staple

Kelly green and gingham with added pops of color....how could you possibly go wrong. All three pieces that I am wearing are staples to my wardrobe and can be mixed and matched with just about anything! This classic Jcrew gingham shirt can be worn with just about any necklace matched with a dark denim skinny or a bright skirt as shown on myself. With fall just around the corner, it's been very hard to direct my mind to think about darker, warmer, and chunkier pieces as we are suffering 100 degree heat at the moment!

Newest Painting: Rustic Hue

DONE! Beneath the many heavy layers of paint and texture of this painting are two completely different paintings that I was not satisfied with. By the third time around of playing with some different color combinations I finally got an ending result that went far beyond my satisfaction level.

Florida Coral...x2

No, we did not purposely plan on matching....I swear.. Lauren (my lovely sister) would never be up for that anyways. But since we both had coral in our outfits and had an awesome backdrop of the Florida gulf, we utilized our coral duo to the fullest! Take a look:
